YSC Group International builds working supply routes for NMC black mass. We have established chains out of the United Kingdom, India and Turkey, and we work with refineries in Asia whose requirement runs well beyond what those routes currently carry.
A recycler with good material and a refinery that needs it will not necessarily find each other, and if they do, the relationship still has to be made to work — specification, verification, documentation, logistics. That work is what YSC does. We establish the route, put both parties in direct contact, and stay involved until the material is moving reliably.
You are not being added to a list in the hope something comes up. There is an open requirement waiting, and our job is to turn your output into a working supply relationship with the refinery that needs it.
Supply out of the United Kingdom, India and Turkey is already established and running. Where your requirement goes beyond that, we open new sourcing markets and qualify producers until it is covered.
We are not a layer that sits between you and the other party taking a cut of every load. We build the relationship, put you in direct contact, and are measured on whether the supply chain actually holds up.
When a lithium-ion battery reaches end of life it is discharged, dismantled and shredded. Casings, foils, plastics and wiring are separated out, and what remains is a fine dark powder made up of the active cathode and anode material. That powder is black mass — and it is where the recoverable value sits.
End-of-life cells, modules and packs are gathered from consumer electronics, EVs, industrial storage and production scrap.
Residual energy is safely removed before mechanical handling begins, which is what makes the material safe to process.
Cells are broken down under controlled conditions, liberating the electrode coatings from the current collector foils.
Magnetic separation, sieving and air classification remove steel, copper, aluminium and plastics from the stream.
The remaining powder carries lithium, nickel, cobalt, manganese and graphite in concentrated form.
Hydrometallurgical processing leaches and separates the metals into battery-grade salts and compounds.
Recovered materials re-enter cathode production, closing the loop back into new cell manufacturing.
Black mass concentrates the most expensive elements in a battery. Nickel and cobalt content are the primary drivers of what a load is worth, with lithium and manganese adding further recovery value.
Composition depends entirely on what went into the shredder. NMC and NCA streams carry high nickel and cobalt; LFP carries neither, which is why refineries value the two very differently.
The majority of global hydrometallurgical refining capacity sits in Asia. Capacity there is not the bottleneck — consistent, qualified feedstock reaching it is.
NMC is the centre of the requirement we work against. Refineries price whatever composition the assay shows, so there is no fixed specification a producer has to hit before a conversation makes sense. Other chemistries are handled on request.
Three working supply chains feeding refineries with an open requirement, and new sourcing markets under development to close the gap between them.
A supply chain that works after the first container is the only outcome that counts.
Producer and refinery deal with each other. We build the connection rather than standing in the middle of it.
The United Kingdom, India and Turkey are running supply chains we built and still support.
Pricing follows the assay, confirmed in the refinery's own laboratory. Nothing moves on a description alone.
If your material has no route, we say so early. Nobody gains from a supply chain that was never going to hold.
The requirement is continuous. We build routes that carry recurring volume, not one-off placements.
Whether you are producing material or looking to secure it, the path through is short.
Producers share an assay and monthly availability. Refineries tell us the chemistry, volume and destination that needs covering.
Your position is checked against the other side of the network. You get a straight answer on whether a route is realistic.
Material is verified, terms are set on a CIF basis, and both parties are brought into direct contact with the detail settled.
First shipment moves and the relationship scales from there, with us still involved to keep it working.
Every supply chain has its own particulars — we are happy to talk through yours directly.
Producers generating material on one side, industrial consumers who need it on the other.
Mechanical processors producing black mass from end-of-life cells, modules and packs.
Facilities recovering lithium-ion batteries from consumer electronics and IT equipment streams.
Operations handling end-of-life electric vehicle packs and second-life module streams.
Processors leaching black mass into battery-grade lithium, nickel, cobalt and manganese compounds.
Manufacturers securing recovered feedstock, and those with production scrap that needs a route.
Organisations consolidating regional battery scrap into volumes worth building a route around.
You will not be handed to an account team. When you contact YSC, you are speaking with the people who build the routes.
Leads supply chain development and producer relationships, qualifying new material sources and opening sourcing markets as the requirement grows.
Works across refinery relationships and route structuring, covering specification, documentation and the path to first shipment.
Producers with material to place and refineries that need it covered reach us the same way.
